Kundalini Yoga is an ancient style of yoga brought to North America in 1968 from India by Yogi Bhajan.  Kundalini Yoga combines asanas (postures), sound, mantras (chanting), and pranayam (breathing) to achieve focus on one’s own physical, emotional, mental and spiritual self.

A Kundalini Yoga class incorporates five steps:
    1.  ‘Tuning In’,
    2.  Kriya - a combination of
         postures, mantras and
         breathing,
    3.  Relaxation,
    4.  Meditation,
    5.  Closing (ending the class)
 
Please note...
Yoga classes for children incorporate these steps but are much more flexible, fun and geared to children!

Family Yoga

    This Kundalini Yoga series is for families, as the title suggests.  Families come in all sizes, ages and generations - all are welcome.  Class focus encourages focus on yourself, as an adult and parent, and playful interaction with babies and toddlers.  Younger children may want to join in and begin to participate in various yoga postures, with the chanting, or just play.   Please bring whatever toys or items your child/children may need.  As this is a family yoga class there is no childcare provided so you, as parents, are responsible for attending to their needs during the class.  Of course children are enthusiastically encouraged to join in!   Where you need to be at any given moment is exactly where you need to be - be it focused on a posture or focused on your child.  
    The room is large enough so one side of the room will be divided - parents and babies/toddlers on one side and adults with no children or older children/teens on the other.   
    I offer this style of class for, as an instructor, I have a pre-schooler that may be attending the classes as well.  Breastfeeding mamas always welcome!

    This course is geared to toddlers, with  mamas & papas who desire to participate or be present during the class.  Great for homeschooling families!

Yoga for Children - unparented
    This course is geared to children of age groups 6 - 8,
9  - 11, 12 - 14,  and 15 - 17 years.  Sessions can be tailored for home schooled children or local schools.
